SPECIAL UK WARM UP SHOWS ANNOUNCED!!!

New Single – “Oblivion”
Release Date: June 8th
Formats: Download, ITunes Exclusive
Plus Ltd Edition CD / T-Shirt Bundle (available only through www.cracktheskye.co.uk)

Prog metal behemoths Mastodon, release their massive new single Oblivion on June 8th. Taken from their critically acclaimed new album, “CRACK THE SKYE”, Oblivion takes you on a magical journey through time and space and leaves you wanting more…

Since forming in 2000, Mastodon have essentially lived on the road. After non-stop touring, the band,
Brann Dailor, Bill Kelliher, Troy Sanders and Brent Hinds decided to record a demo, which would ultimately be released in a shortened EP form on Relapse Records as Lifeblood.

The success of the EP spurned more touring, and even greater success. Their first full-length album Remission, followed in 2002. True to form another round of touring ensued and then Leviathan an album critics were quick to embrace. But it's with the band's legion of fans that they have really delivered. Mastodon's "blue collar" touring ethic has earned them constant accolades from fans that have grown accustomed to their accessibility, approachability and dedication as a working mans band. Rare is the artist who achieves that critical balance coupled with the level of fan support Mastodon has attained. Blood Mountain was released in September of 2006 to critical acclaim and was also nominated for a Grammy award.

As previously announced, MASTODON will tour Europe with Metallica this summer. Before they head out on their European trek, the band will be playing 4 very special shows in the UK. The dates are as follows

June

5th Sheffield Corporation
6th Manchester Academy 2
7th Glasgow ABC
9th London, Islington Academy

Tickets go on sale priced at

In addition, they have been invited to perform as part of the Sonisphere Touring Rock Festival this summer in Europe and the UK with Metallica, Linkin Park, Lamb of God and more. Go to http://www.sonispherefestivals.com/ for details, dates, etc.

THE ’59 SOUND was hailed as one of the best albums of 2008 and Kerrang! magazine put The Gaslight Anthem on the cover before they had ever written a word about them. NME called THE ’59 SOUND one of the “best albums of 2008”, and immensely positive press poured in from Q Magazine, Rock Sound, Big Cheese, Clash and The Sun as well as great American press, including a cover feature in Alternative Press and major features in Rolling Stone and SPIN. Playlist action at Radio One, XFM and 6 Music are also media highlights of this band’s incredible rise to success over the last 12 months.
